Security and Resilience in a Quantum Era — NWO Call on Future-Proof Quantum Technology

NWO has opened a research funding call (€4.55 million in total) focused on two areas: portable entanglement for quantum networks (€1–1.5 million per project) and post-quantum cryptography on conventional systems (up to €385,000 per project). Funded by the Ministry of Defence. Proposals may come from individual researchers or consortia, and can include companies. A letter of intent is mandatory to proceed to the full proposal. Primarily relevant for knowledge institutions and directly affiliated startups (e.g. at HoQ / CWI / UvA quantum groups).

ITEA Call 2026 — international software & systems innovation projects

ITEA (part of the Eureka network) invites R&D&I project proposals in the field of software and systems innovation. Projects that earn the ITEA label allow partners to seek public funding from their national authorities. A brokerage event at the start of the call helps you meet potential partners and form a consortium. NWO Thematic Digital Competence Centres (TDCC) Call 2026

NWO funds projects that let the Thematic Digital Competence Centres support the digitalisation of science, with a focus on data, software and computing (€2.4 million in total). Researchers must first complete a mandatory preliminary phase with the relevant TDCC (LSH, NES or SSH) before submitting to NWO. Relevant for research groups and research software engineers at the park's institutes.

Curiosity-driven research funding (€45 million in total) for proposals in earth sciences, astronomy, chemistry, computer science, life sciences, physics and mathematics. Up to €400,000 for a single-applicant project (ENW-M-1) or €800,000 for a project with a co-applicant (ENW-M-2); investment and Weave (with Flemish, German or Luxembourg partners) variants also available.
